Syllabus Sy 2019-20

Syllabus

  • Planners:
    • With the school's new policy, planners must be signed once a week by Friday. This will confirm that parents have reviewed the grades students were given Monday morning.
    • Signatures will be checked on Friday during study hall.
  • Absences:
    • If your child is absent, they will need to meet with Mrs. Henke and receive all the classwork that they have missed. Most work can be completed in class the next day. However, if the child needs to bring the work home, they will determine with Mrs. Henke an appropriate time that the work will be due. This is to ensure no student will fall behind.
  • Silent Reading Book:
    • Please make sure your child has a free reading book with them every day in class. When students have extra time after bellwork they need to be reading their book. Students can borrow free reading books from the Language Arts teacher if they do not have any at home.
  • Homework: The policy for this class is "no wasted time means, no homework". That means if students are on task we will get through the activities planned for that day. However, if the class has decided to "waste time" they will end up taking homework home that day to finish the activity. If the class does receive homework, it will be written in their planner and due the next day. If you have any questions about this particular policy please email me at khenke@aoths.net
  • Contacting the teacher: If there are any issues or concerns that come up throughout the year please feel free to contact me at khenke@aoths.net and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

After school tutoring begins! Notebook check this Friday.

Hello Academy of Tucson parents and students, Next week beings my first week open to after school tutoring. I have finished coaching for the AOT high school and am excited to be available after school. I will be available every day after school except Wednesdays for a faculty meeting.  This Friday is our first notebook check of the new quarter. Students need to have all journal entries, independent practices, and notes completed for full points. Students must remember to give everything a heading and to underline every vocabulary word.  If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to email me at khenke@aoths.net.
